Immigrating to Canada? You have received your job application letter and you might be very excited. You might have ticked out the entire ‘To Do’ list, such as submitting the necessary documents for immigration, going through the medical exam, and many more things. However, what most immigrants fail to realize is that submitting the complete medical report is the final step for an immigration application to become successful.
Immigration Medical Exam
Whether one is planning to opt for temporary or permanent residency, medical examination becomes mandatory. The medical examination is mandatory for all who are immigrating to Canada, including the dependants who are going with the immigrant. Once the various kind of medical exam gets completed, the medical report needs to be submitted to the immigration office.
One thing which must be kept in mind is that the fate of the immigrant id decided by the medical examination report. The complete medical report can clearly show if the applicant or the dependant members of the applicant is suffering from any medical condition. In case, the test results turn out positive, the applicant won’t be allowed t enter Canada. In fact, the applicant would be considered clinically inadmissible.
Conducting the Medical Exam
As one might know that the medical exam is mandatory for each applicant planning to immigrate to Canada. However, the examination is carried out only by the panel physician who is appointed by the IRCC. After the diagnostic tests and laboratory tests get completed, the panel physician sends the medical report to IRCC.
One thing which must be kept in mind is that the medical examination can be carried out by the listed physicians from any part of the globe. However, the panel physician doesn’t decide if the applicant is admissible to Canada or not. The immigration officials after going through the complete medical report come to a decision.
Obtaining the Report
All applicants and dependants of the applicant going for the medical examination can ask for the copy of the medical report. The report shows if the applicant suffers from any medical condition that can put the health of other Canadian citizens at risk. However, depending on the process through which the applicant is applying for the immigration program, the report obtaining process varies.
For instance, the complete medical report needs to be submitted within 30 days of receiving instruction from the immigration office. It happens when the application is under process. Or, before filing the application, one can get the required medical examination done. During this instance, a copy of upfront medication notification needs to be attached.
The IRCC medical officers carefully assess the medical examination report and put down the result. The visa officers consider the final result and fate of the application. Often on health grounds, a person can be considered inadmissible, especially if the medical report shows that the immigrant’s health can be dangerous for public health.
For protecting the public health and safety of Canada, the complete medical report forms a vital part. Unless a person suffers from any medical condition, they are not denied entry to Canada.
