Treatment
Through the process of assessment, an appropriate treatment plan will be determined. We encourage you to be active in this process, by letting us know what you expect during both the planning and delivery of your treatment.
At the Halton Trauma Centre, treatment plans are designed around the needs of you and your family. In order to ensure that such decisions are fully understood, we take the time to discuss both the risks and benefits with you. Where appropriate, we try our best to respect your and your family's cultural and religious beliefs. Since all of our clients are unique, not everyone will require or receive the same type of treatment. Instead, individual treatment decisions are made to ensure the finest treatment possible, according to best practice guidelines.
At our center we specialize in providing treatment to clients three to 18 years old who have experienced interpersonal abuse or have engaged in sexualized or sexually offending behaviours. By doing so, our goal is to facilitate in the healing process of both our clients and their families so that a sense of safety and health can be restored in their lives. Due to the focussed nature of our services, there are times where we cannot always meet the specific needs of our clients. However, when such situations do arise, our treatment team will assist in finding the necessary community services and supports to address their specific needs.
